Sehto is my take on the pokémon universe. As tends to be beaten to death often in reality checks, surely the pokémon-trainer relationship cannot be one of friendship: you don't force friends to fight to exhaustion just for a moment of glory on your part, after all.

Sehto - the name being a pun on the 'Kanto' and 'Johto' regions of the first two generations of pokémon, following the two-syllable, -to ending pattern, and alluding to Seth - is an island set on the pokémon world, but far removed from the cultures of the rest of the planet.

Here, you won't encounter a lot of pokémon trainers.

And those who take up that hobby and follow it through to its logical conclusion - the gym circuit - often end up vanishing into thin air.

It seems like the profession may lie under some curse... but it is more hearsay. Besides, common opinion is that if you deal with pokémon, you're bound to end up as a casualty one day.

Of course, it's never that simple.
