Using his surname as his nickname, and the name Sudden Death as his callsign from vampire to vampire, Sylvain Deimos sounds far more ferocious than he is. Having been just past his thirties when he was turned, he looks that age - thirty-three - though this turning only occurred in 2005, so he shan't be appearing out of the ordinarily young until much later (relative to the time of writing, the year of which is 2007).
Sylvain, by own claim, has no virtues other than honour. He rigorously follows his own set of morals, taking pride in his thick skull. He viciously protects the ones he loves, and is equally vicious about forcing his moral views upon others by first hand application thereof.
As cold and distracted as he often seems, being an introvert, an observer and thinker, he's astonishingly passionate at the core - the primary force that drives him are his emotions, not his rational mind, even though they rarely see the light of day.
He views himself as a liberal thinker, but in truth is quite conservative, often yearning for the good old days... but given his involuntary change from human to vampire, this is, perhaps, not surprising. Without being aware of it himself, he is the type to flee from negative changes, rather than staying around to fight them - and that is, ultimately, what brought him to Ravenblack City.
Sylvain was born in Manchester in 1972, and turned in 2005, giving him the appearance of a thirty-three year old. He had never really grown to liking the city of Manchester, and when his only ties to the place were forcibly severed, he was quick to leave, and start a proverbial new life elsewhere.
Even in his life-time Sylvain had never believed in the law as set down by the nation. Instead, he thought that common sense would rule him better than these laws, and so it was easy for him to become a thief once he entered Ravenblack City, not weighed down by moral baggage. He's very meticulous about only stealing from those who deserve it - and that is not necessarily the rich people, simply those flaunting more arrogance than is realistic.
Again, it is his passion for his beliefs that drives him.
Sylvain is a Forger.
Sylvain only really knows of the Taika-Tessaro family from talk. What he has heard, though, has filled him with awe and respect, though he has no idea they're immortal, nor about the magic abilities of Ciaran.
Sylvain liked Tamara a good deal until late in 1994, where he began to loathe her, though he was never happy with this emotion for her, deeming it wrong. He was never able to reverse the process, though.
Sylvain was always very protective of his father, paticularily after 1994, when he was the only family member left to him. He still occasionally mourns the death, which struck him deeply at the time, even though it aligned with his own undeath.
Lucia was never as close to Sylvain as Quentin, but he did, despite that, very much mourn her loss in 1994, and was in fact very supportative of his mother until her mental state turned past obsessive.
Quentin, to Sylvain, was always a lovely little brother. They got along splendidly, which is one of the reasons Sylvain is so sure he must have died, as he is sure his brother would have spoken to him if he had intents to run away.
